Custom Lift Slide Door Hardware with Retractable Rollers, Hard-Anodized Aluminum and Stainless Steel

Problem:

Off-the-shelf hardware was inadequate for large all-custom gliding doors; A stronger, smoother, high-precision solution was needed; yet allowing easy removal of doors for moving furniture and vehicles.

Solution:

Steve designed and machined solid hard-anodized Aluminum roller carriages with high-precision angular-contact rollers, a heavy pre-loading mechanism for smooth, rattle-free operation and easy removability with a built-in socket hex retraction mechanism; all built to a high-reliability standard. These were mortised into the top and bottom of all-custom doors; Completely hidden.
